Celia Milano was born in New York City and raised in Westchester County New York. She has several degrees, including a Masters of Science in Management from College of St. Elizabeth, Morristown, NJ.
Before retiring to Florida, Celia worked as a computer software engineer for over 30 years in the military and petroleum industries.
Ever since her mother sent her a mysterious envelope with crumbling birth, immigration and death certificates, 25 years ago, Celia has been researching her family tree and continues to gather information to add to her book “So, Where Do I Really Come From? A Sicilian Family Tree”.
In her free time, she volunteers her computer, web and photography skills to a local archaeological dig and guides people in writing their memoirs.
The Sicilian Project is important to her because as a child, she was not allowed to learn the Sicilian dialect, as the thought at that time was to be “Americanized”. The idea that Sicilian children will become bi-lingual and have a greater advantage in the world is very rewarding.
