Our Directors
Joseph D. Monticciolo, FAIA, is President of The Monticciolo Company, a housing consulting firm providing consulting services for architecture, construction, housing development, budgeting and cost estimating and feasibility analysis expertise.
As Regional Administrator/Regional Housing Commissioner for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Region II, New York (1981-88), Mr. Monticciolo was responsible for all HUD programs for New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and U. S. Virgin Islands with six field offices and 1500 employees.
Mr. Monticciolo is a lifetime Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, Washington, D.C., and the recipient of its prestigious Kemper Medal. He is a Past Director of the National
A. I. A., and the N.Y.S. AIA; as well as, Past-President of AIA Long Island. He received the first Kideney Medal by New York State AIA. Mr. Monticciolo, was recognized in 2000 by AIA, Long Island with the Lifetime Achievement Award. He was also Chairman of the Board of Advisors, Hofstra University, Uniondale, NY, and was awarded an Honorary Alumnus by Hofstra in 2006. He is President Emeritus of the Italian Board of Guardians, and was also a member of the Columbus Citizens Foundation, N. Y. C. since 1976.
Mr. Monticciolo is a graduate of the University of Illinois and received an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree, from the Graduate School, University Center, CUNY. He is the recipient of numerous professional and civic awards.
